Summer has officially arrived and so has Independence Day. It's always a fun time of year when you can spend time with family and friends, enjoy a cookout, and come together with the community. Each year the part of 4th of July I look forward to the most is the fireworks show. I've been to several shows in my hometown near Cleveland, OH and in my second home near Memphis, TN. This year was particularly exciting because not only do I love 4th of July, but this was my first holiday of any kind here in Knoxville, TN. Instead of going to the big gathering and fireworks show in downtown Knoxville (which I'm sure was a blast!), I opted to go to a smaller event on July 3rd in Loudon, TN. I had no idea what to expect but I am sure happy I went! The celebration was in a big, open space with plenty of room for everyone to settle down. There were vendors, kids playgrounds, and even some karaoke going on. As I watched the beautiful sunset and got excited for the fireworks show, I kept thinking about how it was by far the best community 4th of July celebration I've ever been to. To anyone in the Knoxville area: I highly recommend next year you see for yourself.
