As a new resident of Knoxville, I've made it my goal to see all that this great city has to offer. I'm aiming to explore at least one new place per week and am starting a new blog series called "Explore Knoxville" to share my adventures. I'm kicking things off with the World's Fair Park in downtown Knoxville. I've passed by before but this was my first occasion really spending some time there. The best way to describe it is absolutely beautiful! With several fountains, some small waterfalls, a bridge, beautiful trees, and a gorgeous view of the surrounding area, it's a serene and wonderfully relaxing place.
On the Sunday afternoon that I went, there were a few others enjoying the park as well but it was a pretty quiet afternoon. It was lovely to see families spending time together there and enjoying the beauty. While it was a relaxing afternoon, it's easy to tell on the weekends and for special occasions it's a great place for up-beat events. Just the night before, the amphitheater and large lawns were host to the Knoxville 4th of July celebration. Check out some images from my walk in the park and make sure you explore it for yourself.
